"When my husband said he was going to clean his shower, I knew it was time to do something about the awful crud that had accumulated over months. I actually had given up cleaning it as nothing seemed to work.
Since it was travertine marble I couldn't use most household cleaners as they were too harsh. I even bought marble cleaner from a tile store and after using most of the bottle with gloves on, the shower looked much the same.
In desperation one day, I pulled out some soft scrub type cleanser and it improved but was not completely clean. This seemed to aggravate the situation as over the next few months it got worse and worse. Then the realization hit that I couldn't keep ignoring the problem or else I would have to eventually rip out the tile and have someone replace it.
One day my husband and I were in Costco and we saw a high-powered pressure washer. I actually considered buying this but felt that I needed more than just pressure to get the shower clean. So I started to do research on the internet for ways to clean travertine marble and came across an article about vapor cleaning. I studied about many different brands including Ladybug, Euro-Pro, Reliable, VX 5000, VaporJet, SteamMax, White Wing, Eurosteam, McCulloch, Sargent and many others. It was pretty confusing as there was such a variance in prices and features. Most of these brands were only available over the internet or buying directly from a company in another state. I felt it was important to buy a steamer from a local company so I could get it fixed easily and be able to buy additional attachments without waiting for them to be shipped.
So I started visiting different stores to check them out. The salesman in one store didn't even know how hot the water got at the tip. While he left to find out how much additional attachments cost, I began looking through the manual laying next to the machine and found out the operating temperature. When he returned I told him that if anyone else asked about this machine then he could tell them it was between 220 degrees - 240 degrees at the tip. The manual didn't mention the pressure or else I would have educated him on that as well. His lack of knowledge did not impress me. I needed someone who knew what they were talking about and could actually help me with my problem - how to clean a travertine shower. I visited another company who actually did not stock the steam cleaner but happened to have one in for repair. They had a few brushes but did not carry parts so if anything had to be fixed under warranty, it had to be shipped out. I had a lengthy conversation with the salesman who actually told me that this company was not good to deal with as he had trouble getting warranty work done. He actually said that if he had a choice he would probably carry Sargent. I was surprised, to say the least, that he didn't even have confidence in his product. So the next stop was to Sargent. My big hang-up was the price. I mulled the details over for about a week while going back to the internet to check prices and specifications. In the end I decided that the most important thing was a quality product, a local company that could do repairs and one that could give good customer service.
The next week while my husband was out of town, I called Sargent and talked to Joyce, the owner. I asked her some blunt questions about how the price could be justified compared to features and why she felt her cleaner was better than others and I learned all about how she had found the new BrZ2 model. She tried to get me to let someone come out and show me the machine but I declined but agreed to attend a class. I attended a class given by Candace Allred the next Tuesday night. After the class I discussed the reason I had considered buying a vapor cleaner and asked her if she would come to my home and see the problem and see if she thought there was a chance that it would tackle the crud in my shower. Candace came out the next day with a new machine and started attacking the shower. It was amazing. The combination of super hot steam and high pressure melted the crud off the shower.
Because there was so much accumulation of soap scum, mold and you name it on the shower, it took me several hours to finish but the results are amazing. It looks like a new shower once again. I didn't think it was possible.

Now that I see the results of this amazing machine, I feel it is worth every penny. No, it is not the cheapest one on the market. But it is hotter than most and has more pressure than most but most importantly, the customer service is superb. I have called Candace several times for recommendations on how I should clean this or that and she is most helpful. In the end I feel the most important reason for me buying this product is quality and features of the product, availability of local repair and purchase of attachments and related products and continued customer service throughout the life of the product. A vapor cleaner is just a piece of metal in a box if you don't know how to use it and can't call someone to ask for help. Customer service is what makes this product truly valuable in one's home."

"Enclosed are some dramatic before and after photos I thought you might like to see. They are on my campground bungalow after the renters moved out. I don't think anything was ever cleaned in the seven years they lived there! It was so bad I thought lighting a match to it and letting it burn to the ground was the only answer.
I was just sick when I saw the buildup from the smoky wood-burning stove that covered everything. I was sure the acoustical tiles would have to be replaced and the wood paneling was beyond salvage. I could never have painted over the filth and it looked like I would have to spend thousands of dollars replacing all these damaged surfaces.
I would not have believed the results the steam cleaner produced if I had not seen it with my own eyes. I didn't have to replace the acoustical tiles because the soot came right off the with steam. The buildup on the wood paneling steamed right off and the cinder block wall came virtually spotless even in the holes and mortar.
The best part about cleaning with steam if the SMELL IS GONE...not just covered up with chemicals or perfume.
I just love my Sargent. I honestly don't think I have ever made a more important investment. I saved enough on this one project to recoup my entire steam cleaner investment. I can't thank you enough for introducing me to the fabulous tool!"
